- Over 11,000 children in Monterey County, K-3rd grade, do NOT read on grade-level.
- Nearly 90,000 adults in Monterey County do not have basic literacy skills.
Donations will . . .
- Fund books for low-income children
- Increase the opportunity for children and adults in Monterey County to improve their literacy skills
- Fund training to help tutor children and adults
- Support collaboration across Monterey County to identify and implement “Best Practices” in the areas of:
- Tutor Training
- Kindergarten Readiness
- 3rd Grade Reading on Grade Level
- Adult Literacy Acquisition
